What is the function of fascia?
Fascia:
- Positions, protects, and supports organs, nerves, and blood vessels
- Provides the immediate environment for every cell in the body
- Acts like a system of tent ropes, providing stability and support
- Fascia is essential to the form and structure of our bodies.
- Without fascia, we would be big puddles of pieces and parts.
What causes problems in the fascia?
Problems, called adhesions and restrictions, may come from (among other things):
- Stress
- Injuries
- Scarring
- Accidents
- Birth Trauma
Can fascial restrictions be seen through testing?
No, the fascia does not show up on any standard diagnostic testing such as X-rays, MRI’s, CT Scans, or blood tests.
